K Show Interest Tuesday, 6th November 2007
As an exhibitor, we found the K Show in Germany a great success, especially meeting our current & potential customers under one roof. Not surprisingly, our bioplastics range of products (Bioplast) generated a lot of interest and we had over 1000 enquiries! At Stanelco, we believe our Bioplast range is a market leader. Our sustainable range of products are capable of replacing oil-based plastics, derived from natural corn and potato starch which make our polymers the most functional, long-life products which biodegradable right back to nature. Our aim is to be responsive and creative with our approach yet commercially practical.
Green principles Tuesday, 9th October 2007
At Stanelco we are practising green principles in the way we work as well as in the products we create. For a start one of the environmental positives about Bioplast, the new material we make from produce like potatoes and corn, is that the products made from it - like packaging - use the same machinery as conventional plastics. So that reduces waste as well as saving money. Read more here.
An eco-friendly first in the florist industry Monday, 8th October 2007
In the future most of what we make should go rotten. You might call it decomposition by design. Because at Stanelco we make a
new type of material called Bioplast, that is made from produce that can be grown (like potatoes and corn) and will degrade and recycle naturally. It's also largely "sustainable" (that's a buzzword you'll start to hear a great deal soon). Bioplast is tough and durable, and packaging companies can use it to make all the same products they used to make using conventional plastics. In fact our biodegradable & compostable range of products is ultimately capable of completely replacing oil-based plastics – and our goal is to help make that happen. What's more Stanelco's Bioplast doesn't require the people who make the packaging to invest in special new machinery. That makes it more acceptable economically as well as environmentally. Stanelco works in partnership with customers who are committed to using Bioplast to replace their old plastic products.
The new products look and function the same - but they will biodegrade naturally over time.
Stanelco and Val Spicer - an eco-friendly fi rst in the florist industry Val Spicer is a long established and respected UK fl oral foam specialist company based in Devon. Having always been a creative and innovative company, its leaders Jay and and Martin Spicer have lately become acutely aware of the need for all of us to reduce our carbon footprint and conserve our environment. So now Val Spicer has chosen Stanelco’s Bioplast 2189, to create the world’s first range of totally biodegradable funeral tribute backing products for the florist trade. Val Spicer’s new range of biodegradable floral foam funeral
tributes is available in all the same designs as its traditional plastic products, so absolutely nothing has been lost in the changeover to bioplastics!

In the future most of what we make should go rotten. You might call it decomposition by design.
At Stanelco we are working together with our customers and distributors around the globe, to ensure that more of what the world makes, uses and discards in the future will have less impact on our planet. Stanelco's range of bioplastics is ultimately capable of
replacing oil-based plastics – and our goal is to help make that happen. We've already made a good start.
Stanelco works in partnership with our customers and distributors who are committed to using biodegradable & compostable materials to make an ever wider range of products. These new products look and function the same as their predecessors but they will biodegrade naturally over time.
